Many thanks to The Golden Retriever Club committee for the opportunity to judge this well organised covid safe show. Considering the lack of socialisation possible over the last 16 months, all the young exhibits took the experience in their stride, a testament to their temperament & their owners’ efforts. My only concern was high tail carriage which spoilt the outline on the move of several that I really liked standing. This may not have been a large entry but there was no shortage of quality & I was delighted with all my winners.

What a way to start the day with a class of 4 super veterans who really set the benchmark.
1st Saarniit Miss M & Mrs K SH CH/INT CH/MULTI CH LINIRGOR PIED PIPER AT MEIEPERE
Hard to believe this fabulous boy is 9 years old, beautifully presented in rich gleaming gold coat, eager to please, at one with his handler, he had it all. Beautiful head & expression, textbook construction, accurate easy free flowing movement, beautiful head carriage & ring presence, I really couldn’t fault him. Delighted to award him the CC, my co-judge & I loved both CC winners so left the decision up to the referee who awarded him BIS. Many congratulations.
2nd Loverock Mrs MC SH CH THORNYWAIT CRACKERJACK AT LOVISSA
Another fabulous dog & worthy champion, very close up to 1 & contender for top honours. Lovely head & expression, good length of neck flowing into strong level topline, super angulation fore & aft, covered the ground with ease. Beautifully presented & handled to perfection.

Very sprightly for his 9.5 years, kind gentle head, balanced all through with a firm level topline & tailset, which he held on the move. Pleasing angles with no exaggeration, sympathetically handled.

Have always loved this beautiful boy, judged him as a youngster & he has only improved with age. Now in his prime he is beautiful inside & out, a true golden gentleman. Gentle masculine head, with textbook construction, he’s a picture standing & equally impressive moving out with a long easy stride. Very close decision for top honours, delighted to award him the Res CC
