THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER CLUB

CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

13TH JULY 2024

BITCHES

I was delighted and honoured to be invited to judge at this prestigious Show, and relieved that we were able to be outside where there was a lovely atmosphere. I feel that outdoor rings allow the dogs to really show their movement and drive to advantage.  Many thanks to my stewards for their hard work on what was a long day. The overall entry was high in quality and presentation was excellent however some exhibits I have admired in the past were lacking in quality of coat on the day and paid the penalty. My CC winner stood out for me however Reserve was a much harder decision with 3 or 4 exhibits very close. I would like to thank all exhibitors for accepting my decisions in a sportsmanlike way.

Baby Puppy ( 4 )

Four lovely baby puppies all were promising but at different stages, they all showed well and were confident  being handled which  at this stage I think is the main aim. 1st Clarksons Drumkilty Nollaig Shona. Just shy of 6 months this lovely balanced puppy showed really well. Sweet expression and lovely head shape with just the right amount of bone and depth of body for her age. Excellent overall confirmation and very happy on the move should have a very bright future. BBPIS

2nd Fosters Auristela Singing Hinnie. Not as well developed as 1 but time will resolve that. Very appealing head and expression, good shoulder placement and level topline. Moved well for such a youngster. 3rd Rees’s Drumkilty Merry and Bright For Catenae. Similar comments as 2 with all the attributes for a promising show career.
