The Golden Retriever Club Championship Show – 22nd July 2017 – Bitch Judges Report
I thoroughly enjoyed judging at this prestigious Club Show and would like to thank my two stewards who kept the ring running smoothly all day, also my ring photographer who has produced a wonderful record of the dogs on the day.
It was a privilege to judge some top quality bitches including many who had travelled from Europe, I appreciate a well presented bitch in fit hard condition. An exhibit that moves like a show girl, is at one with their handler, is a joy to watch.
Veteran Bitch (11)
1st Grady’s SH CH THORNYWAIT MY GIRL AT GLENRIOCH
One of my favorite classes to judge and what a star it produced. Just 7 years old, she was a beauty. Starting with a soft gentle feminine head with dark eyes and excellent pigment, she was balanced and correct which ever way I looked.
A quality Champion, hands on she has a super length of neck flowing into clean correctly angulated shoulders, strong level topline and tailset, short coupled mature body with a good spring of rib, well muscled rear with good bend and width of stifle, short strong neat hocks. Presented in fine coat and super condition. Her movement is easy on the eye, driving sound action, maintaining her lovely carriage and level tailset on the move. In my final line up at the end of the day she still impressed against the other quality class winners and I had no hesitation in awarding her the C.C and on the referee’s decision BIS.
2nd Scott and Briggs LARGYMORE LADY BRACHLA
A Lovely type, the balance I was looking for and presented in fine coat and super condition, an expressive feminine head with super dark eye and pigment. Correct layback and angle to her upper arm, creating a good forechest, level topline and tailset, balanced short coupled body proportions, stifles of good width and angulation placing her hocks neatly just below the tailset. Moved around the ring in the expert hands of her breeder, showing strong rear driving action with a super head carriage. Delighted to make her my BPB and at the end of the day BPIS in agreement with my co-judge.

A delightful 6month old baby who could not be denied her place here. Very balanced beautiful shoulder construction, level topline and tailset. Excellent shoulder construction, strong level topline into a correct tailset. Her stifles have good width, strong pasterns and neat hocks, which she used well when moving, giving her an easy good length of stride. In the challenge her youthful looks showed through against the more mature winners of the upper classes but I wish her well for the future.

Loved her classic feminine head, strong neck of good length into perfect shoulder construction, straight front, mature depth of body and good spring of rib, level topline and super tailset, strong rear good bend of stifle into neat hocks. Shown to perfection, moving effortlessly with the head carriage I love to see, this gave her the class over another quality exhibit. Delighted to award her the RCC.
2nd. Facq’s CH GOLD DUST DU BOIS DE LA RAYRE

Soft expressive head, neck that flows into correct shoulders, strong level topline, short coupled, excellent rear with a good bend and width of stifle, presented in super coat and hard muscular condition.
